Learn The Importance of Backlinks

If you have ever visited an Internet Marketing forum such as the acclaimed Warrior Forum, you will undoubtedly have seen a multitude of topics centered around backlinks.

What are backlinks?

Basically, backlinks are what every Internet Marketer strives to get to their website. A backlink is a link to your website from another website and when search engines such as Google see these backlinks they recognise that your website is offering good enough content for other websites to to link to yours and so reward you with recognition in the form of page ranking in their search engines. The more more backlinks you have, the higher ranking you will achieve.

There are varying degrees of strength of backlinks in as much as if you get a backlink from a website which has a page rank of pr4 for example, it will be a much stronger link than one coming from a pr1 site. So it is important to get as many high pr backlinks as possible.

Similarly, a one way link, ie a link from another website to yours without a link from your website to theirs, has more strength than a reciprocal link.

There are numerous ways in which you get backlinks, the most common of which is article marketing where you leave a link to your website in your resource box or signature file. If a publisher likes your article and publishes it on their website or blog, you will get a backlink.

Similarly, blog commenting (commenting on other blogs)  and forum posting will generate backlinks.

If article marketing etc. is something you feel you would struggle with, then their are other ways to generate backlinks, one of which I personally use and absolutely swear by.

Having a blog is considered by many in Internet Marketing to be an essential element

So what is a blog?

A blog (a contraction of the term “weblog”) is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. “Blog” can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art, photographs, sketches, videos, music, and audio. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging, featuring very short posts. The most common being Twitter.

The personal blog, an ongoing diary or commentary by an individual, is the traditional, most common blog. Personal bloggers usually take pride in their blog posts, even if their blog is never read by anyone but them.

Blogs often become more than a way to just communicate; they become a way to reflect on life or works of art. Blogging can have a sentimental quality. Few personal blogs rise to fame and the mainstream, but some personal blogs quickly garner an extensive following.

A type of personal blog is referred to as “microblogging,” which is extremely detailed blogging as it seeks to capture a moment in time.

Sites, such as Twitter, allow bloggers to share thoughts and feelings instantaneously with friends and family and is much faster than e-mailing or writing. Twitter is also considered an essential element within Internet Marketing as you can very quickly build up a list of thousands of followers to your blog posts (tweets).

Although relatively new, Internet Marketers very quckly realised they have a captive audience  within Twitter to whom they can market to. Intigration of Twitter into a blog is a very simple process which can bring in hundreds of visitors to the blog.

Using a blog for Internet Marketing can bring huge financial rewards to the blogger.

Using a powerful application such as WordPress and having it hosted with your own domain name (website address) means you can firstly tailor the blog to your preferences, usually by selecting an appropriate theme and adding various plugins of which there are hundreds available to suit various applications. Once you have the layout and functionality to your liking, you can then monetize it. By this I mean add affiliate links etc and when anybody makes a purchase you get paid a commision.

If you are to be successful at blogging, then you need to add content of value to your readers who will if they like your content, come back time and time again.

Do you even know what keyword research is?

Keyword research may be something you have read about somewhere or heard talked about, but do you understand the meaning of keyword research?

To help you understand the answer to this question and the importance of effective keyword research, please read on.

In the present economic climate, many more people are turning to the Internet in a bid to earn some sort of an income by joining one of the thousands if not millions of so called “opportunities” available online today.

Sadly, the vast majority of these will fail simply because they did not have the whole picture at the outset and many of these opportunities even claim to give a step by step tutorial on how to achieve their goal.

When joining some of these business opportunities the tutorials they follow generally put the emphasis on getting traffic to their sales page and more often than not, recommend ways in which to generate the traffic.

This usually means a subscription to a paid service. At the very best, some tutorials will recommend article marketing as a means to generate traffic and point people in the direction of paid article submission services.

Most of these paid for services do work of course, if you have done your SEO (search engine optimization) correctly.

Some tutorials will even go so far as telling you the importance of SEO and keyword selection in order to make your business work but they fail to tell you how to go about it.

• So what is the answer?

The truth of the matter is, whichever business opportunity you join or if you simply wish to promote a product or service, if you are just starting out in Internet marketing, you need to learn the basics.

There is nothing wrong of course with setting up your own blog and filling it with affiliate links and generating content…….you will get some visitors and you may get the occasional sale. But if my guess is correct, you don’t just want the occasional sale do you? No of course not! You want loads of sales on a regular basis.

So your very first lesson has to be “Learn about Keyword Research” This is one of the most important factors that many of the aforementioned opportunities neglect to tell you.

Your second lesson should be how to take those keywords and make money with them. SEO or Search Engine Optimization.

Keyword research although essential to success in Internet marketing, is not an exact science but can be very time consuming and tedious and some people may well as a result just give up at this point simply because they do not have the resolve. This is one of the reasons so many people fail in their Internet marketing endeavours.

Using Manuals To Start A Home Business

We’ve all been there! Searching for a way to work from home.

Whether it is because you are fed up with your daily toil travelling to your day job or you just want to earn a bit of pocket money to pay for those small luxuries in life.Or maybe like thousands across the globe in the present economic climate, you are fearful of losing your job or maybe you have already lost your job.

Whatever the reason, we all have to start somewhere and because of the untold tales of riches, many of you are turning to the internet and herein lies your first problem,  a great many people are falling for some of the “Get Rich Quick” schemes which in many cases leave you in a worse predicament than when you first started.

So how do you start without getting your fingers burned?

Whatever online business you are thinking of starting working from home, it requires a certain amount of planning and preparation. You need to set yourself a budget that you are comfortable with whether it’s pennies or pounds/ dollars – you must stick to your budget and not be tempted to go over. You need also to decide what time you have available to work your business.

If you already know what business you wish to start, then you need to set yourself an action plan, outlining your goals and a realistic time frame to meet each one keeping your budget in mind at all times.

For those who are unsure of which type of business to start, research different areas of interest. Ideally something you are passionate about and believe in. This way, you can very quickly promote yourself as an authority in that field. Don’t worry if you can’t think of anything, there are a million and one areas you could start out with and maybe not realize it.

Now then, this bit is crucial.

No matter what business, product or service you want to sell, you need to know how to promote it!

There is absolutely no point in you setting up a website or paying someone to do so for you, if you don’t know how to promote it and get visitors to your website. Not just any visitors, we can all get them, but targeted visitors – visitors who have an interest in your product or service and are ready to buy from you.

You can have the best all singing, all dancing website in the world, but what good is it without visitors who are prepared to buy from you? Exactly…..it would not only be pointless, but costly too.

So what’s the answer?

Simply put – Work!

Now at this point many people will just shy away and go and join one of those opportunities that promise the earth. But they will soon see the error of there ways and will probably either give up, or come back and read through this article again or one like it.

They will almost certainly be a little more broke. Seriously, you need to work at promoting your business.

Those of you who know something of internet marketing will know what I mean and have an edge over anyone just starting out, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. No, on the contrary, anyone can if they are prepared to learn the different facets of internet marketing.

Everyone’s learning curve is different, so claims that you can make money overnight are unfounded – yes of course, you may get lucky and make a sale here and there, but that’s not what you want is it? You want a business that sustains a regular income at a level that you are comfortable with…am I right?

Okay, so how do you learn?

The Newbie Manuals are presently being written to assist anyone aspiring to start a business in internet marketing. Affiliate marketing, multi level marketing or whatever.

Each manual will  give honest and where possible free advice covering all facets of internet marketing  and on the best methods to use and explain why they are the best methods. In addition, they will wherever possible, have links to enable you to utilize free resources in order to keep your costs to a minimum.

In the absence of the complete collection of manuals and if you are at a stage beyond the presently available manuals, my recommendation is to join a mentoring group.

You may even consider joining a program that offers a free tutorial, just be cautious here though, because in most cases there will be an up sell – an up sell is a recommendation that you purchase a product or service that is required to make your business work. many people get suckered into these, this is after all how the person giving away something free initially, makes his money.

No, if you want my honest opinion, you need to find a mentor, someone who is prepared to take you by the hand and teach you step-by-step. This can however be very expensive as you can probably imagine. There is a similar alternative however and that is a group of mentors known collectively as the Niche Power Group or NPG.

I can personally recommend these people who incidentally, all started out just like you and me and  are now hugely successful with their online businesses. They have been around as a group for a while now  and there are many testimonies and success stories from everyday people whom they mentored and coached using their step-by-step methods to build an online home business.

There are obviously many other mentors to be found on the internet, but this group stand apart from the rest and charge only a fraction of what others do without any “up sell” and give you free monthly bonuses to help with your business.

In summary

In order to start an online home business and promote it successfully, you need to know how.  Learning through “The Newbie Manuals” is in my opinion  your safest option.

Second is to seek out a mentor for fast track success and ultimately save  yourself heartache and money. I personally recommend the Niche Power Group from first hand experience.
